Day 1: Canada - Palermo

You'll start your Sicilian journey in Palermo, the energetic capital of Sicily, and transfer to your hotel. Enjoy some free time to relax before enjoying your welcome dinner with fellow travelers. Overnight in Palermo.

Day 3: Palermo

This morning visit the Palatine Chapel, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located inside the complex of Palazzo dei Normanni. Then take a walking tour to visit Piazza dei Quattro Canti, Piazza Pretoria, Teatro Massimo and a Puppet Museum. After exploring the traditional, bustling Capo Street Market-Porta Carini, you may discover Palermo on your own and join the optional Monreale Tour(US$45). Head to the hill-topping town of Monreale — renowned for its Arab-flavored cathedral that blends Byzantine, Arab, Jewish, Gothic, and Norman traditions, heritage, and art. We'll tour the cathedral's interior of glittering, golden mosaics as well as the story-telling columns of the cloister. This evening is at leisure and enjoy vivid Piazza Olivella nightlife. Overnight in Palermo.

Day 4: Palermo - Segesta - Trapani

After breakfast, visit Palazzo d’Aumale museum to take a close look at the colorful Sicilian cart - One of the most recognizable symbols of Sicilian folklore. Then drive through western Sicily and view the ancient Greek site of Segesta to meander through its magnificent Doric temple and hilltop theater, which was constructed in the 5th century B.C. and is one of the greatest examples of this Doric style of architecture. Afterward, we'll enjoy a tasty typical lunch with Sundried tomatoes, Castelvetrano olives, and Marsala wine. Continue to the enchanting medieval mountaintop town of Erice, a wonderfully preserved medieval town with breathtaking views and a great historical presence. Visit Borgo Storico Erice and walk along the cobbled streets lined with superb examples of Gothic, Baroque and Renaissance architecture. Continue to seaside Trapani. Overnight in Trapani or Marsala area.

Day 5: Trapani - Motya – Trapani/Marsala

Today we'll take a short drive down to the Trapani salt pans — a coastal wetland and nature reserve where sea salt has been harvested for nearly 3,000 years. Admire the traditional salt pans and windmills of West coast under a beautiful Sicilian sun. Then board your boat to cruise on the Stagnone Lagoon to the island of Motya, an ancient trading outpost for Phoenician merchants. Explore the ruins of the early Phoenician colony of Motya with the beautiful Museum Whitaker, house to the famous marble statue of the Charioteer. After lunch continue to Mazara del Vallo to walk the Kasbah maze of streets and view the statue of the Dancing Satyr, a rare example of Greek bronze sculpture, which was accidentally discovered by a fishing boat in 1998.Overnight in Trapani or Marsala area.

Day 6: Trapani - Agrigento

This morning, we will drive to Montevago for an authentic olive tour visiting the farm, olive orchard and mill. Following the tour, relax on the terrace and enjoy a harvest farmer’s lunch with wine. Then we'll take a magical history tour of Agrigento's Valley of the Temples, the largest, best-preserved collection of ancient Greek buildings outside of Greece. Tour this magnificent archaeological park, built between 430 and 510 B.C. Then transfer to the hotel and have dinner together. Overnight in Agrigento.

Day 7: Agrigento - Piazza Armerina- Ragusa

Travel to Piazza Armerina to view the intricate examples of Roman mosaics at the famous Roman Villa del Casale, designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Here we'll spend much of our morning surrounded by the world's richest and most colorful collection of Roman mosaics, ranging from Homeric escapades and mythological scenes to portrayals of daily life. Then you will visit Caltagirone a little town full of swirling patterns, vibrant colours, painstakingly detailed designs. The highlight is undoubtedly the 142 steps of the famous ceramic Staircase Santa Maria del Monte. Then we head to Ragusa. Overnight: Ragusa 4 Star or similar

Day 8: Ragusa-Ibla (Modica Optional)

This morning, indulge in the Baroque atmosphere of Ragusa-Ibla, with its breathtaking sights of houses, churches, and palaces that seem layered on top of one another. This afternoon is free on your own or join the optional Modica and Chocolate tasting tour with lunch (US$55). Modica is famous for its UNESCO-listed landmarks and chocolate-making heritage. Drive to Modica and visit St. Giorgio Cathedral, Centro Storico, Garibaldi Theater, Palazzo de leva, and Castello dei Conti. Here, you’ll dive into this Baroque beauty and learn the secrets of Modican chocolate. You’ll return to Ragusa for an evening at leisure, the aroma of roasted cocoa beans lingering long after your visit to the local chocolatier. Overnight: Ragusa 4 Star or similar

Day 9: Ragusa - Siracusa - Taormina

This morning, drivel to Noto, where you will have a short stop and take wonderful photos of the most spectacular urban settlements. Then board your coach to Syracuse, once a major Mediterranean power and the birthplace of Archimedes. Visit the "Old City”, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located on the island of Ortigia. Take a visit to the archaeological area of the Neapolis and get a glimpse of Siracusa as it was in ancient times with its Greek theater, the remains of Roman Amphitheater, and the "Ear of Dionysius," an awe-inspiring artificial limestone cave renowned for its outstanding acoustics. We'll take a closer look at Ortigia and marvel at the masterpiece of the Castello Maniace, Piazza Duomo, Piazza Archmedes and Arethusa Spring. Take a short drive up the coast to Taormina, where we'll take in breathtaking views of Mount Etna while learning more about the volcano. Enjoy your free time in the hotel. You may take the optional Etna Slope wine tour and tasting with dinner (US$55). We will visit Etna Slopes and stop at a family-run winery, a picturesque farmhouse with delicious food. Day 10: Taormina

This morning we'll tour Taormina's remarkably situated ancient Greek theater, which is still used today for open-air performances. Then you're free to luxuriate in this cliffhanging, Old World resort town. Wander through its elegant gardens, posh cafés, and shops; ride a cable car down to the beach; or explore the nearby mountain top village. You may also join optional Sicilian Pizza cooking class (US$79) to make your own pizza using local, fresh ingredients. Enjoy your farewell dinner this evening. Overnight: Catania 4 Star or similar

Day 11: Taormina- Catania - Malta (Birgu-Valletta)

This morning, take the early flight to Malta. After arrival, begin with a visit to Birgu, the old maritime city and the first location the Knights of St. John settled when they came to Malta in 1530. We will explore the historical centre known as the ‘Collacchio’ which was an exclusive part of the city occupied by the gallant Knights of the Order. Then onwards to Valletta, the walking tour will take you through the St. John's Co-Cathedral and learn about the city’s fascinating connection to the Order of the Knights of St. John, you will free time at Piazza Regina to grab a snack at one of the local cafes whilst enjoying the ambience of this charming city. After that, swing by the Upper Barrakka Gardens, a beautiful public space with a history stretching back to the 16th century. Rest of the afternoon and evening at your free leisure. Tonight, enjoy your Maltese cuisine during dinner at your hotel.

Day 12: Gozo Island Optional Tour

Today is free for you to laze on the rooftop terrace and enjoy the marvellous seascapes from the seafront hotel. Perhaps take a relaxing stroll along the promenade filled with many restaurants and bars.

If you’re feeling more active, why not take an Optional Gozo Island Day Jeep Tour with lunch (US$120). You will be transferred to the north of the island for a short boat trip to Gozo Island. On arrival, you will meet the Jeep Safari tour leader. The Jeep tour will include visits to popular sites such as Dwejra Bay (Fungus Rock, Inland Sea & Blue Hole), Victoria, and the Citadel plus other sites not normally included during a normal tour of Gozo, these include - Simar Valley, Qala Belvedere, Salt Pans, Ramla Bay, Marsalforn, Saltpans, Xlendi Bay and Sannap Cliffs. A short shopping and tasting stop is included en route.

This tour is suitable for those that enjoy a touch of adventure and enjoy exploring the scenic routes. The tour is a lot of fun, however, can be a little bumpy at times. Lunch is also included in a typical local restaurant in one of the villages we visit. After all, transfer you back to the drop-off point via the Island of Comino and the caves.

Day 13: Mdina - Blue Grotto & Marsaxlokk Village

Today we will discover Mdina, the ancient capital of Malta. This walled city dates back to medieval times and has witnessed Malta's major historical events, having a strategic position on one of the land´s highest plateaus. During your walk in the silent city, view the Mdina Cathedral and the imposing bastions that allow you to admire panoramic views of most of the island. Afterwards, tour to the south coast, visit the Blue Grotto, a series of nine caves whose rocky sides glow green, purple, and orange according to their mineral content. Surrounding the caves are some of the clearest, brightest cobalt-blue waters imaginable. Visit the fishing village of Marsaxlokk where free time to stroll around the market before return to Hotel in Sliema and enjoy the rest of the afternoon for your own explorations.
