Fly overnight to Beijing (PEK).

Upon arrival in Beijing (PEK), you will be warmly greeted at the airport by the tour guide and transferred to your hotel. This evening, meet your fellow travellers at a Welcome Dinner in the hotel.

Today, visit Tiananmen Square, the second largest public square in the world, and the Forbidden City, it is a historic and magnificent imperial palace complex and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987. It is located at the heart of Beijing and covers an area of about 180 acres. It is enclosed by a massive defensive wall and a deep moat, making it one of the largest and best-preserved ancient palace complexes in the world. Then indulge in a delicious lunch to savor the flavors of both tradition and innovation - Peking Roast Duck. 
This afternoon, you may join the optional Temple of Heaven & Hutong Life tour(US$89/person). This tour offers an authentic experience, explore the UNESCO-listed Temple of Heaven before navigate Beijing's historic alleyways on a rickshaw for a glimpse into the past.

Today’s highlight is an excursion to the majestic Great Wall, the most famous image of China, and you can get a chance to climb a portion of this 3,700-mile marvel. Visit one of the largest Jade Exhibitions in Asia en-route before the Great Wall. Then drive pass by modern exteriors of the Bird’s Nest and Water Cube that were built for the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics. Both buildings have become symbols of modern China and are significant landmarks that showcase the country's architectural prowess. 

In the evening, enjoy an optional Beijing Acrobatic Show(US$65/p), where talented performers amaze with gravity-defying stunts.

Today continue to the legendary Summer Palace, the resort of the Empress Dowager. Enjoy a serene boat ride across the lake, soaking in the breathtaking views, then meander through the expansive palace grounds, capturing the essence of royal leisure.  Afterwards, visit a Traditional Chinese Medicine centre to learn about the ancient healing practices that have been passed down for thousands of years.

Note: For departures from November to March, the boat ride on the lake at the Summer Palace will not be available due to seasonal closure. A replacement dinner will be provided during this period.

Today, embark on the modern high-speed rail bound for Xi’an. Over a period for more than 2000 years, Xi’an was the capital of eleven dynasties. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel and enjoy the unique Shaanxi dinner  in local restaurant. Tonight, you may join the optional visit to the Grand Tang Everbright City (US$69/person). It is a 2,100-meter-long pedestrian mall in Xi'an. The design theme is inspired by Tang Dynasty, You may try on a Tang Dynasty costume, the traditional attire of the Chinese people to immerse yourself in the vibrant nightlife in the Tang Dynasty.

Today you will visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum and see the attached life-sized defending army for the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. This site is regarded as “the eighth wonder of the world” and is among the top archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Visit an Art Ceramics Factory before visiting Ancient City Wall. It is the most complete ancient military defense systems in the world. This evening, enjoy the “special local Imperial Dumpling Banquet Dinner and the traditional Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show” (US$68/person).

Fly to Lhasa, the "Land of Sunshine" and spiritual heart of Tibet, set at an altitude of 3,650 metres (11,975 feet). Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted with a traditional khata (Tibetan welcome scarf).
In the afternoon, visit a Thangka painting studio to watch artists create these intricate Buddhist scroll paintings using natural mineral pigments. Check in to your hotel, where oxygen-enriched rooms help you adjust comfortably to the altitude. Take the rest of the day at a gentle pace.

Visit Norbulingka, the "Jewelled Park" and former summer residence of the Dalai Lamas, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with tranquil gardens and palaces.

Continue to Sera Monastery, one of the three great Gelug monasteries of Tibet. In the afternoon, witness the famous monks' debate, a lively tradition of clapping and animated discussion of Buddhist philosophy.

In the evening, join an  Optional Princess Wencheng Show, Tibetan Sweet Tea & Potala Palace Night View (US$65/person)  enjoy a cup of traditional Tibetan sweet tea, the spectacular Princess Wencheng performance, and a view of the Potala Palace illuminated at night.

Today, explore the magnificent Potala Palace, the iconic symbol of Tibet. Rising 13 storeys above the city, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was the winter palace of the Dalai Lamas and houses countless treasures of Tibetan art.

Continue to the Jokhang Temple, the most sacred temple in Tibet, and join pilgrims on the kora around the bustling Barkhor Street, lined with prayer wheels, butter lamps and stalls of local handicrafts.

This evening, enjoy a Tibetan Banquet with traditional singing and dancing.

Visit the Tibet Museum to discover the history, art and culture of the Roof of the World. Then, dress in traditional Tibetan costume for a memorable photo session.

After lunch, fly to Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province and a UNESCO City of Gastronomy.

Take a boat ride on the river to admire the Leshan Giant Buddha, the tallest stone Buddha in the world at 71 metres, carved into the cliff face over 1,200 years ago and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Continue to the Dujiangyan Irrigation System, an engineering marvel built over 2,200 years ago that still waters the Chengdu Plain today.
Return to Chengdu and stroll along Jinli Ancient Street, lined with traditional architecture, teahouses and local snacks.

Get up close with China's national treasure at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where you can watch the endearing giant pandas eat, play and relax in their natural habitat.
Board a high-speed train to Chongqing, the vibrant mountain city on the Yangtze River. After dinner, transfer to the port and embark on your 5-star Yangtze River cruise.

Enjoy a relaxing morning on board as the ship sails downstream. Join a shore excursion in Fengdu to Shuanggui Mountain, a scenic hillside park rich in local folklore.

Spend the rest of the day enjoying the ship's facilities and onboard activities, such as tai chi and lectures on Chinese culture.

This morning, sail through the dramatic Qutang Gorge, the shortest and most majestic of the Three Gorges. Continue into the elegant Wu Gorge, famous for its misty peaks.

Join a shore excursion to Shennong Stream aboard smaller boats, gliding past emerald waters and towering cliffs.

Disembark at Sandouping for a shore excursion to the Three Gorges Dam, the largest hydroelectric project in the world. The cruise concludes in Yichang around midday.

After lunch, fly to Shanghai, China's most cosmopolitan city.

Take a day trip to Suzhou, known as the "Venice of the East". Visit the Lingering Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and revel in the tranquility of its meticulously designed rockeries, ponds and pavilions.

Visit a silk factory to learn how silk is made, from silkworm to fabric, then return to Shanghai.

This evening, opt for the Huangpu River Night Cruise (US$60/person) to experience Shanghai’s dazzling skyline illuminated at night.

Shanghai is the vibrant and commercial Centre of China. This morning you will walk along the famous Bund, a mile-long stretch along the Huangpu River. Lined by the colonial architectures showing the Western influences of the old days. Then we will visit  the Shanghai History Museum, renowned for its impressive collection of ancient Chinese art, and the City God Temple area, surrounded by a network of local snack vendors, pearl shops and souvenir shops that make for a colorful walk. 

This evening, celebrate the end of your journey at a Farewell Dinner.

Transfer to Shanghai airport (PVG) for your flight home, filled with unforgettable memories of China and Tibet.
